Pajama/Stuffed Animal Celebration on Monday! We have earned our 50 Tiger Tokens! The kids voted and chose to celebrate with wearing pajamas and bringing a stuffed animal. Monday is when we will celebrate with our pajamas and stuffed animals. The one request about the stuffed animal is that it is small enough to fit in their backpacks. Also, you might send a pair of tennis shoes for recess if your child wears his or her slippers to school.
Changes to Student of the Month: Our school will no longer have a student of the month in each class. It has been decided to have a student of the week. I will choose one student to be recognized as our student of the week. This child will bring home an information sheet they fill out and bring back to school so they can share it with the class. I will hang these in the hall all year long to help extend the celebration. I will announce who my student of the week is every Friday and the student will bring back his or her filled out recognition sheet on Monday.

Reading- Reading tests have begun this week. The kids have been doing a wonderful job of rotating through our Daily 5 stations while I test students in reading. I am proud of them!
Writing- This week we have been working on revising, editing, and transition words. They did a great job helping me find transition words in my writing and then finding transition words in their own writing!
Math- The kids as been working on addition fluency by playing Plus 1 or 2 Bingo. They have also been playing a game called Collect 25 cents. This is a game where they roll dice and the number they roll is the amount of change they get. If they have enough to trade it in for a nickel or dimes, they trade. The first one to make it to 25 cents wins! We are finishing up our week with adding doubles.
