- Math- Ask your child how many faces, vertices, and edges a cube has. They have been learning how to count these this week. We have also discussed what quadrilaterals are and the attributes of quadrilaterals which are...they are polygons, they have 4 sides, and they have 4 angles. We will be continuing to work on shapes along with fractions next week. We will be taking our assessment on geometry on Friday.
Writing- The kids have been working on similes this week. Next week they will be working with adjectives and verbs as they write Cinquain Poems.
Science- Landforms is the unit we will be starting next week. The kids are going to be creating maps with keys to show landforms on their maps they are constructing and titles to those maps. I am really excited for this unit because there will be a lot of hands on activities!
- Field Day t-shirt order forms went out this week.
- Shoe Boxes for art- The kids have created a fragile art project so Miss Mathers has asked for all kids to bring in a shoe box to pack their project in so they can be taken home. She said parents are more than welcome to come in and get the project from the art room before or after school if you would rather. She will only be able to do this before or after school.
