Math
We will be taking our end of unit assessments on graphs this coming Friday, the 23rd. The kids have been making a lot of line plots this week and next week they will practice making bar graphs and pictographs.
Writing-
These kiddos are so good at writing about their opinions. We will continue working on these for a few more weeks to help them remember to write introductions, good details, and endings.
Reading- Reading is such an important part of education. The kids have to be able to read grade level material to be able to independently complete their work. I would love to have a strong partnership between home and school when it comes to reading. One way to accomplish this is to ask your child nightly what he or she read during their independent reading that day. Ask your child what he or she wrote about during their work on writing during our literacy block. Have your child tell you about the book he or she is reading. The benefits from these discussions are monumental. This lets your child know that you will ask what he or she did during that time and that it is important to be reading to themselves during read to self, or that they are working on writing during work on writing. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your help!
It looks like the sun will be out for our weekend! I hope you all have a chance to get out and enjoy it with your family!
Have a great weekend!
