It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas and now we are back to Spring weather. That is one of the many things I love about living in the Ozarks!
Announcements:
Today from 2:30-3:15 is our Winter Party. The kids are so excited!
Tomorrow is an early release day. The kids will get out of school at 12:40.
Reading- We are winding down our assessments in reading. When we come back from break we will be resuming our guided reading groups. Don't forget to have your child read over break. I will be sending home the January reading calendar today.
Math- Telling time to the nearest 5 minutes has still been our focus in math. The kids are also needing to know how to tell time using the terms a quarter past, quarter to, and half past. We practice this multiple times during the school day because practice makes perfect.:) We will continue working on time and then move into measurement after winter break.
Writing- Informational writing will continue to be the focus for a few more weeks.
Social Studies- We will be starting our economics unit after break. I think the kids are really going to like this unit.
Upcoming Dates:
Snow Day Make Up Days
Monday, January 20 - Students will attend full day
Friday, February 14 - Students will attend 1/2 day
Dec. 23rd-Jan.3rd- Winter Break
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you have the chance to spend a lot of time with your family and loved ones. That is my plan for sure!
